Alpine Loop

During another trip this summer I spent a few weeks in Utah and drove up Provo Canyon, through the Alpine Loop and walked around Cascade Springs with my sister and nieces. The pictures do not really do it justice, but I will share them anyway...

I'm an amazing photographer

Not really.

On a recent trip home I went to Swiss Days in Midway, Utah with my beautiful sister Robin. On the very lovely drive home I attempted to take a picture of Bridal Veil Falls. I say attempted because it turned out like this-


(Take note of the rearview mirror- if that was the whole picture it'd be much better).

Luckily Robin already had a picture of the waterfall and was nice enough to share it.



As you can see- she is a much better photographer than me. I wasn't a complete failure though- I did snap this amazingly cute picture of Rusty enjoying the ride (of course he makes that very easy by being so cute all the time).

Kill Devil Hills

My sister has been in town and I decided to drag her to North Carolina while she was here (she went willingly). I have been meaning to explore more of the East Coast since I moved here and have failed miserably- I really need to get out more. And recently a friend mentioned the Outer Banks and there was a lot of news coverage of it during Hurricane Earl- so that's where I decided to go. It wasn't really the best time to go to the beach as there was a fairly massive rainstorm yesterday and today but it was still beautiful. Here are some pictures....

The Riverwalk

I've been feeling kind of blue of late and a couple weeks ago I decided to cheer myself up and drove to Yorktown, I wanted to see all the beautiful fall leaves along colonial parkway before it was too late and it was fun to sit on a beach and read- you should all be jealous that I get to do homework on a beach (although, I'll admit I'd rather not be doing homework and just enjoy the riverwalk).

I wanted to share how pretty the drive was but the pictures don't really do it justice and I learned that I shouldn't try to take pictures while I'm driving.





It was a little colder than I expected- I knew it would be cold so I wore a sweatshirt but I should have thrown on a jacket too!



And Rusty LOVES the beach- as soon as his feet touch the sand he takes off and starts running around like mad.

The drive home

I noticed how cool the sky looked as I was driving home from work today and felt compelled to take some pictures- they aren't great as I was driving (at about 70 mph) when I took them but you get the idea.

Other funs pics (at least I think so and since this is my blog that is all that really matters).

Big Cottonwood Canyon

I was driving home from work, taking the scenic route, when I arrived to the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon and decided to take a left instead of a right and drive up the canyon. It's funny because I had to get gas this morning and was stressing about money and the price of gas and yet I hardly thought twice about driving up the canyon. I haven't been up there in years. I keep forgetting how beautiful Utah is. Here are some pictures. (Disclaimer: the pictures really don't do the canyon justice).

Rusty didn't think much of the drive, here's his reaction...
